Aston Martin Valkyrie Supercar

Friends, we have covered some pretty amazing cars in this blog, but none of them compare to this one. Aston Martin said of this car “Valkyrie is Aston Martin’s first ever hyper-car and it leaves nothing in reserve.” This new supercar is a scorcher, and certainly lives up to the hype. This car is flat out amazing, and they WILL produce it! I don’t expect to see many of them in my neighborhood, however.

Monster Sports Car

The Aston Martin Valkyrie Supercar (code named AM-Rb 001 and Nebula) is an upcoming production car that will actually be sold! This is a hybrid electric sports car that was built as a group effort between Aston Martin, Red Bull Racing, and a few other collaborators. They first built a show car to tour the planet before deciding to produce it, to see what the public would think of this supercar monster. The design is just about ready to go to production, and it is expected to be released soon.

The outside of the car is designed to be very aerodynamic, and is capable of 4,000 lbs of downforce under acceleration. The wheels, front splitter, and front axle were all designed for downforce. This is to ensure the car stays on the road and doesn’t take flight. The entire car is made of carbon fiber, and there is  not a single steel component anywhere on the car. The car also has special edition tires, 265/35-ZR20 at the front and 325/30-ZR21 at the rear. The 20″ front and 21″ rear rims are made of magnesium alloy with race quality center lock wheel nuts to reduce mass.

Unique Interior

The interior of this supercar is unlike any other car we have ever seen. It has no gauges, and all the information needed is displayed on a variety of LCD screens instead. One screen sits at the top of the center console with all the information the driver needs. On the left and right sides are screens with side cameras instead of rear view mirrors. Look at the side of the car – there are no mirrors!

There is also a screen on the racing steering wheel. Beside the screen are a variety of dials and switches to allow for changing settings while driving. The bucket seats have two seat belts for each set to keep the occupants strapped in. This car is also customized to each owner, as Aston Martin 3D scans each buyer to ensure the driver’s seat fits perfectly. The steering wheel is also customized for the precise tilt and telecoping based on the customers requirements.

Technical Specs

The Aston Martin Valkyrie Supercar comes in both a street version and a racing version. The street version contains a 6.5L naturally aspirated V12 with Cosworth customization.  The car makes  1,130 horsepower. Unbelievably, this 1,130 hp car only weighs 2,271 pounds! This makes a better than 1:1 horsepower to weight ratio, which is why all the body components are made for maximum downforce. The car also includes a 7 speed paddle shift transmission. The exhaust exits right below the rear spoiler, like other supercars. It also includes a hybrid battery system. The Valkyrie claims to be the fastest street legal car in the World.  A road car production of 150 units is planned, all at the price of US$3.2 million. They are allowing pre-production orders as of the time this article is being written, so hurry and place your order if you want one. There will be a track version, called the Valkyrie AMR Pro, with only 25 units  being made. There is no word on pricing for the Track version yet.
